Indonesian Feast

just a quick short post this one. few days ago, my friend just opened a new asian groceries store *yes, i got my personal supply of delightful ingredients on hand!* and there was a “store-warming” on the that day. our friend cooked up a storm!! quite literally too.

it was a mountain of turmeric rice (nasi kuning) and with a myriad of dishes (ranging from traditional fried chicken, stir fry beef, potato cooked with offals- yep, offals- and heaps more!) and collectively, these wonderful dishes are simply known as ‘Tumpengan” – which traditionally the person being celebrated cut the top of the rice (triangle) and hands it out to the VIP.

and before i start confusing you even more, here’s a picture :)
